I haven't really done anything lately but when i did I hardly got any comments.
I know it sucks especially when you want some feedback to help you correct things but after a while i realized that this place is pretty much just a place to organize your work. If you are expecting good comments, this isn't the place.
I stopped expecting, so now its ok if i do something or not, if i get a comment or not. I'm grateful for the few comments i get, i feel its like a bonus as opposed to something i expect.

I stopped caring when I stopped getting many comments.

People now days are getting too lazy, that's the problem.
They look at something and just shrug it off, rather than actually appreciating it.

Unfortunatly, I do care. I'm a very sensitive person like that.

In the new year, I made a resolution to give a meaningful comment to every deviation I recieved on my ~Addish account. Something that gave crit to the best of my ability, that complimented the piece and the sort of comment I would like to get.

You would not believe the amount of stick I got back for it. People bitching me down just because I dared to say "Hey, just a note, next time you could _____". It sickened me. I gave up after the 5th or 6th time.

This place sickens me.

Well. Most of the time it is.
It's an art site, you have to expect it.
Personally I would rather it than stupid "lolz itz awsum" ones.

The best way I have found to get comments is to comment others like crazy. every 20th-50th comments back.
also, making friends always gets you comments
and gifting well known people on DA, but make sure they are nice and appriciate what you do for them. allot of them just fav it and don't give a shit. klar is a great artist, but would be a bad person to gift because she has been known not to even comment the gift to say thanks.
Someone like =michelephant is great to gift, because she really appreciates the hard work you put into everything and almost always features you in her journal <3 her gallery scares me, but she is a great person and a friend to us all.
